Terms of Service

By using Tidenote, you agree to these terms. We keep them as plain and straightforward as possible, because you are here to track your mood, not read legal textbooks.

1. Not a Medical Device

This is the most important term: Tidenote is an observational journaling tool designed for personal reflection. It is absolutely not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional mental health care or therapy.

Our AI is strictly instructed to remain observational — it will never diagnose you or offer medical advice. If you are experiencing a crisis, please use the crisis resources we provide in the app or contact your local emergency services immediately.

2. Accounts and Data

You can use Tidenote without an account initially in local guest mode, but to sync your data securely and access your history across devices, you will need to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, your journal entries are your property. We only store them securely to provide the service back to you, and you can delete them at any time.

3. Subscriptions (Tidenote+)

Tidenote offers a free tier and a premium tier, Tidenote+, which unlocks full historical insights and detailed Wrapped recaps. If you subscribe to Tidenote+:

• You will be billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your premium access will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.
• We do not offer partial refunds for mid-cycle cancellations, unless legally required in your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable Use

We built Tidenote for honest, personal reflection. By using the app, you agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our AI prompts or generation logic.
• Use Tidenote to process illegal content or content that violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to breach or bypass our security measures or Row Level Security (RLS) constraints.

5. Termination

We believe in data ownership, meaning you can terminate this agreement at any time by simply deleting your account from the Settings menu. This will instantly and permanently erase your journal entries from our live databases. Conversely, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or abuse our infrastructure.

6. “As Is” Warranty

We work hard to make sure Tidenote is reliable, but we provide the service “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the service will be entirely free of errors or interruptions. AI can sometimes make mistakes or misinterpret context, and you should always evaluate its insights with your own judgment.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tidenote and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service. Because Tidenote is an observational tool, we are expressly not liable for any decisions made based on the patterns or insights the app surfaces to you.
